Other Things We Do
Missionaries
We support several missionaries, some of whom came out of Anchor.
- Tabatha Lamb teaches English as a second language in Vietnam. She began attending Anchor as a student at Taylor University-Fort Wayne.
- Sharon serves in Central Asia at a Christian bookstore.
- Anna Geivett serves with Food for the Hungry in Peru.
Literacy Alliance
We're delighted that a social service group called the Literacy Alliance meets in our lower level every Monday and Thursday night. Through the Literary Alliance, scores of people have earned their GED.
Fellow Churches
We have a great relationship with five other churches in our zip code, and do some things together.
- In 2008, we joined forces with some Presbyterian churches to build a home for a Somali familiy through Habitat for Humanity.
- For two years, we've held joint Lenten services on Sunday nights, rotating between the churches.
- For two years, we did Vacation Bible School together.
- We did a picnic in the park together.
