What We Do
Many different things happen at Anchor.
As with most churches, a lot happens on Sunday morning. Sunday is our Big Day, when everyone comes together.
We support five missionaries (all young, single women).
We do our best to help people in need, within our limited resources. This is important stuff.
Scores of people earn their GED at Anchor, thanks to the Literacy Alliance, whch meets twice a week in our building.
A thriving concert ministry operates our of Anchor, hosting Christian hard-core concerts for young people from throughout the city and northeast Indiana.
Bible study groups meet at homes in different parts of the city--perhaps weekly, perhaps every other week. All Anchor people are encouraged to participate in a home Bible study group. It's a great way to learn, to develop solid relationships, and to grow as a Christian.
We've been known to send teams around the neighborhood to pick up trash.
Our Halloween maze is a popular and well-established tradition in our neighborhood.
The worship team practices every Thursday night from 6:30 to 9:30 (or later). They also come to the church at 7:30 on Sunday morning to practice some more.
We have several events which occur every year, and which are a big deal to us.
There are work days, women's events, outreach activities. And, of course, plenty of potlucks.
