Christmas at Anchor

Several Christmas traditions have taken hold at Anchor. Every year, members of the congregation buy gifts for Anchor–usually small, inexpensive, everyday items that the church needs. Examples: paper towels, cleaning supplies, batteries, photocopy paper, coffee, toilet paper, etc. People wrap up the gift and bring it to church. Then, on the Sunday before Christmas, the children pass the presents out to adults in the sanctuary, who unwrap the gifts. The kids then bring everything back to the front of the sanctuary.

At the same time, we distribute Christmas cards. Rather than have people spend money on stamps sending cards to each other, we do it together.

Other things might happen at Christmas, like a children’s program. It’s always a great time for the church.
